Bunpimay festival is one of the most famous traditional festival of Laotians. It takes place during the fifth month according to the Buddhism calendar. This year, the Bunpimay Festival takes place from April 13-16. On the occasion of celebrating Bunpimay 2564, Thai Nguyen University of Economics and Business Administration organized many meaningful activities for Lao students who are studying at the University such as football match with Vietnamese students, a meeting with the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Thai Nguyen province.

 In the meeting with the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in Thai Nguyen province, there were the appearance of Assoc. Prof. Tran Van Quyet - Head of Science, Technology and International Cooperation Department; Dr. Nguyen Viet Dung - Deputy Head of Science, Technology and International Cooperation Department; Mr. Tran Doan Khanh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Thai Nguyen province, Chairman of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Dinh Hoa district; Mr. Tran Phuc Vinh, - Vice Chairman of Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Dinh Hoa district - Deputy Head of Education Department of Dinh Hoa district. Representatives of TUEBA also gave small gifts to Laos students. Mr. Tran Doan Khanh also sent flowers to Lao students and the representatives of TUEBA.

Laos students perform traditional dances of Laotians for present guests, lecturers to present their gratitude. Besides, students also wrist-pointing ritual for guests. According to Laotian custom, the wrist-pointing ritual has the meaning of praying for security and blessing and is often reserved by the Laotians for their family members or beloved ones.

 Some faculties in the university also organized activities to celebrate this event for Laos students. Even they are far away from their homeland, Laos students still feel the warmth from the care and affection that the teachers of TUEBA gave to them in their meaningful holiday. These meaningful activities also showed the concern of leaders of TUEBA  and faculties for international students.

Although celebrating Bunpimay Festival  far away from their homeland, the Laos students are still supported by the university to perform their traditional water splash  festival  in Vietnam. TUEBA has invited Laos student coming from Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy; Thai Nguyen University of Agricultural and Forestry; Thai Nguyen University of Education to take part in the water splash festival in TUEBA.  Laotians believe that water will wash away bad things and diseases and bring a new year with health, clean, and long life. Whoever gets wet will have a lot of luck.
