LEARNING EXPERIENCE AT TRIER UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCE (GERMANY)

            The extensive network of cooperation between Thai Nguyen University of Economics & Business Administration (TUEBA) with many universities and organizations around the world create more opportunities for TUEBA students to study and have experience oversea. In 2020, the University signed a cooperation agreement with Wiha Werkzeuge GmbH (Germany), in which the company will annually sponsor for one student of the University to study in Germany for 1 semester and do internship at the company with the total value of the scholarship up to 5,000 EUR.

In 2021, Nong Minh Thao, who is a student at K14 of TUEBA’s advanced program fortunately achieved a scholarship of Wiha to study at Trier University of Applied Sciences (Germany) - one of the most important partners of TUEBA. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she has had her first experience "online studying abroad" instead of visiting Germany to study. It was not the first time she participated in an exchange student programs because she had had studied in Bulgaria before with the  full- funded Eramus + scholarship of the European Union. In the second time being an exchange student, she shared her thoughts and emotions.  

After applying for the scholarship, she has been supported by the Department of Science - Technology & International Cooperation, the International Institute of Education and the International Department of Trier University of Applied Sciences.

Trier University of Applied Sciences is an European university which provides  variety of courses relating to International Business, Computer Technology, Automation and Energy, Linguistic, ... Her first impression with Trier Applied University was that the staffs, lecturers were enthusiastic and hospitable to not only domestic students but also international students. They always are responded quickly any questions. Trier University also offers an International buddy program which connects students to create mutual partners, help each other get acquainted with the country and German culture as well as support learning, answering questions in the learning process such as: activating talent tuition fees, course registration, ... When joining in this program, she felt so excited because her" online studying abroad" became easier and it made her didnot feel alone.

To provide maximum support for students, the Trier University website regularly updates information about learning, extracurricular activities, internship programs, recruitment information, and other announcements related to services in Trier University area. During the Coronavirus outbreak, all learning materials are recorded and posted on the web by professors and lecturers, so that the students become more proactive in the process of accumulating knowledge.

In spite of online learning, the professors of Trier University still have various methods to evaluate and classify students such as writing essays, giving presentations with required topics to encourage students to read documents and do more research actively.

 

When Thao got the scholarship, although she was a bit nervous and worried at first, but after getting used to the situation, she felt more excited. Besides admiring the professional organization and working style of Trier University of Applied Sciences, she was very happy to have wonderful experiences in her student period. She felt her lucky to be a student of Thai Nguyen University of Economics & Business Administration because the University has given her the opportunity to have a worthwhile study abroad experience in Germany.
