EXTRA CURRICULAR PROGRAM FOR LAOS STUDENTS AT THAI NGUYEN UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
29/04/2021Thai Nguyen University of Economics and Business Administration is a prestigious training institution that many international students choose to study in their career development journey. The reason is that while they are studying at the University, they have opportunities to participate in useful extracurricular programs to improve their Vietnamese skills and understand more about culture and people of Vietnam.
In order to create opportunities for Laos students to have a better understanding about a part of Vietnamese history in the period of defending the country, Thai Nguyen University of Economics and Business Administration organized a two-days trip for Laos students to two historic sites of ATK Dinh Hoa and Tan Trao banyan tree in two days (April 10-11, 2021). These are two famous historical sites where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked during the years of fierce resistance against the French. At ATK – Dinh Hoa, students offered incense and commemorated President Ho Chi Minh at Ho Chi Minh memorial temple in the relic area. After that, they visited Ho Chi Minh ‘s workhouse on the Tin Keo mountain to learn more about President Ho Chi Minh's life during his days in the ATK.

Students offer incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh
After visiting the Dinh Hoa ATK, the Laos students visited places such as Na Nua, Tan Trao banyan tree, Tan Trao communal house in Tuyen Quang Province. Tan Trao is the resistance capital of Vietnam, where the Communist Party of Vietnam hold a national conference in 1945 to conduct an uprising and where the Vietnamese army established.
Students visited Na Nua (Tuyen Quang) - where President Ho Chi Minh used to live and work from May to August 1945.
In the extracurricular program, students also visited community tourism models in Tan Lap cultural village, Tan Trao commune, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province. Tan Lap village is a historical relic, where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked and located headquartered of Vietnam Government in the August Revolution in 1945. Currently, these monuments are still maintained and developed by people into a model of community tourism to serve tourists.

The students stayed at the hundred-year-old old house of the Tay ethnic people. They also participate in some community cultural activities such as listening to folksongs, making traditional dishes of the Tay people, picking tea leaves.

After joining the program, Laos students said they were very interested in extracurricular activities. They learned more about a historical period of the Vietnamese people, community business tourism model. These extracurricular experiences will be memorable memories about their life and studying in Vietnam. They also present their gratitude to the Board of Administrators of TUEBA for organizing such meaningful program for them.
