CONFERENCE: “RENEWING TRAINING PROGRAM, PROMOTING STUDEN’S EMPLOYABILITY”

 

 

In the morning of August 24th, 2020, TUEBA organized a conference named: “Renewing training program, promoting student’s employability” to create opportunities for staffs, employees to share their experiences in renewing the training program and teaching methods. It is a part of project “Development of student success factors and employability of disadvantaged and vulnerable students through new approaches to course design and teaching and learning” which granted by Au4skill.

At the beginning of the conference, Assoc. Prof. Do Anh Tai gave an opening speech and presentation: “Development of student success factors and employability of disadvantaged and vulnerable students through new approaches to course design and teaching and learning – Results and experience” .Prof. Do Anh Tai emphasized that it was difficult for TUEBA’s students to find a job after graduation. They were lack of knowledge, skills which labor market required. Therefore, they often felt shock when they entered the labor market. The project “Development of student success factors and employability of disadvantaged and vulnerable students through new approaches to course design and teaching and learning” granted by Au4skill aiming to promote employability of TUEBA’s students through new approaches to course design and teaching and learning. In the framework of the project, TUEBA cooperates with experts coming from Queensland University of Technology to organize a lot of seminars, online courses to provide for staffs and employees meaningful experience and lessons.

 

At the seminar, there were 6 presentations of lecturers, including:

  1. Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thuy Ha presented: “Experience on program development, according to career orientation at Thai Nguyen University of Forestry and Agriculture”.
  2. Dr. Ta Thi Thanh Huyen – Deputy Head of Training Department, Thai Nguyen University of Economics and Business and Administration presented: “Renewing training program of the University in order to promote student’s employability”.
  3. Dr. Ha Quang Trung – Dean of Economics and Agriculture Development Faculty: “Renewing Agriculture Economics  Program to meet the demand of labor market and global integration in Thai Nguyen University of Forestry and Agriculture.
  4. Dr. Ngo Thi Huong Giang – Vice Dean of Business Administration Department: “Redesign the curriculum of Business Administration programs according to CDIO standard: Results, difficulties and experience.
  5. Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Tam – Deputy Head of Quality Control of TUAF presented: “Renewing examination according to output standard in TUAF”.
  6. Dr. Do Thi Thuy Linh – Lecturer of Marketing – Trade and Tourism presented: “Roles of career orientation for student after graduation”.

During the conference, all participants had chances to discuss about above representations. After this conference, organizing committee hopes that experience will be applied in reality aiming to create graduates satisfy the demand of labor resources.

Overview of the conference

On 12th of June, 2019, Thai Nguyen university of Economics and Business Administration in collaboration with Central Philippine University organized a seminar: “The Challenges in MSMEs, Economy, Governance and Leadership: Philippines and Vietnam Experiences”. Attending the conference, the delegation of Central Philippine University included: Irving Domingo L. Rio, Ph.D. – Vice President, Rowena Monzo Liboon, Ph.D – Head of Graduate School, Hernandez Carmen, Ph.D – Graduate program coordinator, and 18 PhD students. From Mavin Group, it was very honor with the attendance of David John Whitehead, Ph.D – Mavin Group President. On the side of Thai Nguyen university of Economics and Business Administration, the participants were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Anh Tai – Vice Rector, representatives of faculties, teachers and PhD students who are studying doctoral programs collaborated with Central Philippine University.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr.  Do Anh Tai expressed his deep gratitude and warmly welcomed the Central Philippine University delegation and all teachers and PhD students of Thai Nguyen university of Economics and Business Administration at the Conference.

The international cooperation activities of TUEBA have been making great achievement, significantly contribution to affirm the University’s reputation, brand and position in the Vietnamese education system. The University always affirmed that international cooperation is a leading strategy to create a breakthrough in developing resources to serve the university’s development. TUEBA and Central Philippine University have been cooperating since 2018 so far, the two institutions have well implemented a lot of cooperation programs such as: staff and student exchanges, research collaboration program, joint degree program.

The conference today affirmed that the cooperation between the two institutions was growing, Assoc. Prof. Dr.  Do Anh Tai especially thanks the presenters for their dedication to prepare quality scientific reports for the conference.
